Sheena Williamson RGN, RM, BA, PG Dip.


Sheena has been an active committee member as the Scottish representative with the Association for Nurse Prescribing for five years.

Sheena originally wrote the Non Medical Prescribing programme materials for University of Stirling, which are delivered by means of a blended learning approach using WebCT as a virtual learning platform on three geographically diverse campuses and she has been the Programme Director for the last three years.

Sheena is a member of the Scottish Higher Education Institution’s Non Medical Prescribing forum. This unique group share experiences around programme development and facilitate co-operative working at regional and national level in collaboration with NHS Education for Scotland, the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Health Professions Council.

Sheena has recently been seconded to the Scottish Government as a Project Officer for the next year to support the implementation of a Strategic Framework for NMAHP prescribing which is due to be launched in the near future.

This year Sheena contributed a chapter towards a new book on Medication Safety which is soon to be published through Cambridge University Press in 2008. The proposed book is designed for all healthcare professionals involved in the management of medicines.
